Our lives are brief moments compared to Earth’s prolonged timescales. That’s the central concept of the mind-bending work of artist Katie Paterson.

Her initiatives encompass a library in Oslo housing books that must not be taught except 2114, and a room in Scotland that holds ‘all of time’ – from pre-photo voltaic mud to Anthropocene debris.
